About us

About Tierfreunde Schweiz

We don’t just want to rescue animals — we want to give them a real prospect of a safe and happy life.

Tierfreunde Schweiz is led by two women who have been passionately committed to animals in need for many years — both as volunteers, without any compensation.

Who we are

Tierfreunde Schweiz is a non-profit association dedicated to dogs, cats and other animals rescued from emergencies and crisis situations — above all dogs and cats who have lost their home. We are driven by the conviction that no animal should be forgotten, abandoned or left to its fate.

We support the medical care and nursing of these animals, which, depending on need, also includes neutering, vaccinations and identification with a microchip. We then accompany them in the search for a suitable, permanent home. Where it makes sense, we also support other animal welfare organisations and partners — because responsible, sustainable rehoming is always at the heart of what we do.

How we work

Our work is carried by our members and a volunteer board that manages the association’s affairs. An independent auditor reviews our annual accounts every year, so that our work always remains transparent.

How we are funded

Our work is made possible by membership fees, donations, sponsorships, sponsoring and proceeds from events. All funds go exclusively into our animal welfare work.

A detailed history of the association will follow here as soon as it is available.
